SPRINT CHAMPIONSHIP

The Sprint Championship is the top level of racing in SRK. It's aimed at the top rental kart drivers in the country and features fast, fair racing in short sprint heats followed by ABC style finals. Each driver enters either the SRK1 'Pro' class or SRK2 'Amateur' class weighing a minimum of 80kg.

All drivers race against each other in the heats in which drivers will be allocated a front, middle, and back grid position. The results across all heats decides starting positions for the finals after which the class winners are decided. The format is designed to allow for non-stop action and the most popular format across rental karting by far!

Format

5 minute practice

3 x sprint heats

ABC style finals (winner of lower finals progresses)

SRK1 Pro

SRK1 is for experienced drivers who want to challenge for the overall event win and take home the largest trophies available. Drivers in this class must be attached to a team and can select 'looking for a team' on the entry form if they are not currently in a team.

SRK1 Challenger

SRK1 Challenger is for drivers who are fast enough to take heat wins and take points off the top drivers, but perhaps not quite a title contender. After the first half of the season completes, the Showdown system will decide which drivers are placed in this class.

SRK2 Amateur

SRK2 is for newer drivers to outdoor karting or casual drivers. Those that over-perform in this class will quickly be promoted via the Showdown system to either of the above classes.

Masters

The Masters Trophy is available for drivers racing at 90kg+ for the entirety of the season. The highest finishing 90kg+ driver at each round will win the Masters trophy.

Teams

The Teams Championship runs alongside the Drivers Championship and is free to enter. Much like F1, drivers will score points for their respective teams while racing individually. Each team can consist of 2-4 drivers with the ability to add a 5th driver to a round 3 times throughout the season. The 2 highest scorers from each round create the team score for that round.
